HW3_DRAWING TOOL II

In this drawing tool I turned the line into a line made out of circles. The mouse follower is a long rectangle (pict 1). The drawing tool has two phases. In the first one, the circles in the line are smaller and the¡r size is random and have more opacity. In the first face, the the mouse follower is made out of three mouse followers, three rectangles that have a 1/2 and 1/3 distance to the mouse follower that directs the line (picts 4,5,6). In the second phase of the drawing tool, the mouse follower is only one rectangle and the circles are bigger, with less opacity.
An interesting thing is that the drawing the person who is using the tool is doing will never get done as he/she wants, since I change the velocity and put it negative in the vx. So the circles, instead of going towards the direction where the person who draws want, draw in the opposite direction in the x. I called it "Frustrated Drawing Tool for Frustrating Times"....One of my photography teachers says times of crisis are times for creative people. The recession is definitely inspiring!! (programming too...)

HW3_DRAWING TOOL I

In this drawing tool the line is made out of circles that take random colors in the blue and red channel. They change in three moments phases. At the beginning they are empty and bigger. After, they get smaller and they get random colors in the red channel. The size changes depending on the moment of time where they are drawn. The mouse follower's color and size changes also according to the change on the line of circles. At the beginning, when the circles are bigger and empty, they seem to move slower. After they give the illusion of a bigger movement and velocity due to more randomness in their size. Video coming soon!

HW3_DRAWING WITH THE EYES II

Some of the drawings made with the eyes, get to touch the paper and get an output on the sketch book. Some others will remain in the memory without having any physicality. Some of the drawings that get to touch the paper, get more abstract and some others define the shape of a body, a face or a space. I observe that the drawings that get less abstract are the ones where the pencil is touching the paper constantly. Once one takes out the pencil from the paper to draw another part of the subject, the abstraction begins to be more obvious.
I wish there was a way for me to register the drawings that remain in the memory, the ones where the pencil never touches the paper (it would, at least be useful for spaced out person like me...to keep record of what I've seen).
Drawing with the eyes is a useful way of observing textures, shadows and highlights as well as the shape of things and people. It is a way for the person who is doing it to stop time and observe what it is that surrounds us. What I find more interesting is the fact that one forgets that it is a drawing that uses the paper (with its physical borders) and the pencil as raw material.
